TP53

Introduction

The p53 protein, coded by the tp53 gene is known to be a factor in detecting cell disfunction and signaling apoptosis, cell-recycling.

It’s a homodimer in that multiple p53 proteins bond with each other (first two, then four). The alpha helix of one bonds with the beta sheet of another and the alpha helix sections between the two also intertwine.
